About Luna

Luna is an adorable 8-month-old, 5-pound Chihuahua with the sweetest personality and the gentlest heart. This tiny little girl may be small in size, but she has an enormous amount of love to give. If you're looking for a loyal companion who wants nothing more than to be by your side, Luna is ready to become your new best friend. Luna is incredibly affectionate and loves being close to her people. She enjoys being carried, snuggling on the couch, and soaking up all the love and attention she can get. Her foster mom has completely fallen in love with her and has admittedly been spoiling this tiny princess every chance she gets! With her calm and loving personality, Luna is happiest when she's spending quality time with her family. Luna gets along well with both cats and dogs. Because of her tiny size, we feel she would do best in a home with other small, mellow dogs that will respect her space. She would also be perfectly happy as the only pet in the home, soaking up all the attention for herself. Due to her delicate 5-pound frame, we are looking for a home without young children where she can safely enjoy a calm environment. She would make a wonderful companion for a single person or a couple looking for a devoted little shadow. Luna is currently wee-wee pad trained and has done wonderfully in her foster home. We have not yet introduced her to a crate, so we are unsure how she would do with crate training. Given how tiny and well-behaved she is, her foster mom has happily let her enjoy all the comforts of home. Luna has been fully vetted and has been examined by our veterinarian. She is up to date on her vaccinations, dewormed, microchipped, and has tested negative for both heartworm and Lyme disease. Luna has a pending spay appointment that is fully covered by ROOT Rescue. She is available for adoption before her surgery, with the understanding that her adopter will bring her back to one of our partner veterinarians for her scheduled spay appointment, which will be arranged and covered by the rescue. Luna is looking for either a committed adopter ready to give her the loving forever home she deserves or a family interested in our foster-to-adopt program while she completes her remaining veterinary care.
