About Nightwing

URGENT: Nightwing Needs a Lifesaving Home by July 16 at 4:00 PM Nightwing (A290961) is a 5-year-old, neutered German Shepherd whose time is running out. He must leave the shelter by Thursday, July 16 at 4:00 PM through adoption or rescue. Nightwing's story began when he wandered onto someone's porch with a cable tie dragging behind him. No one knows what he endured before arriving at the shelter, but through it all he has remained incredibly loving toward people. Outside of his kennel, Nightwing is exactly what you hope for in a German Shepherd-friendly, affectionate, loyal, and happiest when he's spending time with his people. He loves attention and quickly wins over everyone he meets. Unfortunately, the shelter environment has become overwhelming for him. The constant noise, confinement, and stress have caused him to pace, bark, and become anxious in his kennel. While he can be difficult to return to his kennel after walks, those behaviors are a result of the stress of shelter life-not who Nightwing truly is. He desperately needs the chance to decompress in a home. Nightwing is still working on his leash manners and will benefit from continued training and consistency. He has met other dogs and has done best with large, playful female dogs. Any resident dog should be introduced slowly after he has had time to settle into his new home. Nightwing doesn't need a perfect family. He simply needs someone willing to give him the opportunity to leave the shelter behind and become the loyal companion he was meant to be. His life now depends on someone stepping forward before his deadline.
