I pulled Bella (formerly Garnet, and is the dog on the right) at the last minute from a high kill Inland Empire Shelter on 7/3, along with her son Ciao Ciao (formerly known as Alexander, on the left) as she had run out extensions by yesterday, had no foster, adoption, or rescue interest. Ciao Ciao had been pulling at my heart strings when I saw post from the shelter. My wife didn't want Ciao Ciao, not to mention Bella, but the angel that she is, she agreed to both. So I felt compelled to pull him right before closing on Fri July 3 after driving two hours out there and couldn't leave her behind. I can only keep them until 7/19. On their first day with us, they just relaxed/chilled in the backyard all day, playful, running around. Bella is a pleasure, very sweet, calm, no jumping, and pleasant disposition. Happy to play or cuddle up with you. They trot around a little and play in our small yard. No bad comments while at the shelter for 70+ days (separated) and none from me. In other words, very low maintenance, which is why I love older dogs. Housebroken for about 8 - 10 hours inside, should get along with other dogs (they did in the shelter for all that time), and everyone - the dogs and the foster or adopter - would be better off if they stay together. Please reach out if interested. We call them Ciao Ciao and Bella to communicate how bonded they are. Bella has a very soft, beautiful, fluffy, healthy coat. She is 65 to 70 pounds and will be spayed on 7/13. Neither dog shows any food aggression toward each other or to me, likely not to anyone. Both seem like they were beloved, family dogs and are pretty much 'plug and play' and ready to go home. Very sweet and gentle personalities. They also seem to understand Spanish. Both will be spayed and neutered on 7/13.
