About KAYA

Kaya is a sweet, gentle girl looking for a patient family who will give her the love and attention she deserves. She was purchased as a puppy by a family member, but due to demanding work schedules and the responsibilities of raising three children, she spent much of her early life crated for 10-14 hours a day. Because of this, she didn't have many opportunities to socialize with new people during her puppyhood. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs and cats and has lived with three children ages 6-12, doing very well with them. She can be shy and timid when meeting new people, but once she realizes she's safe and begins to trust you, her affectionate personality shines through. After gaining your trust, she is incredibly loving and loyal. She enjoys being close to her people, loves going for walks, and stays nearby when outside. One of her favorite things is being picked up and cuddled-she truly enjoys being held and spending quality time with her family. She would thrive in a home that understands she may need a little time to warm up to new people but will be rewarded with a devoted, gentle, and affectionate companion.
