We found this girl at a gas station off I-35. We have met dead ends at every opportunity to trace her microchip number, even going back to the origin of her microchip, which was Fort Worth animal services. Everyone's best guess is that she was dumped, and therefore no response from any previous owner. Our home is not a good fit for her, and I am committed to finding one that is where she can be happy and have all of the freedom that she wants to have. A little bit about her%BD'%BD| First off, we love this girl. She is silly and sweet, super smart and a stellar athlete. She will be an amazing companion for the right person. This girl is active%BD'%BD| lots of energy, very agile, confident and athletic. She loves to run, jump, spin, has been swimming once, and just in general has a pep in her step and a joy to explore. She is adventurous%BD'%BD| she would be a great hiker, agility girl, frisbee or ball chaser, or a running buddy. This girl does want to chase small animals (which is why she cannot stay%BD'%BD| we have tried hard). She wants to chase our barn cats, but is easily redirected on a leash, and we have gotten to a point where she can walk by the barn cats while she is on a walk with me and she will definitely look at them, but will turn away to keep going with me. She wants to chase, and has in fact caught chickens. I don't fault her for that, and she is not in trouble for that%BD'%BD| It is just her nature and her instinct, so just important for me to find a home that does not have those for her to chase. %BD%BD%BC It is unclear how well she gets along with other dogs%BD'%BD| She is amazing and super easy-going with one of our male dogs%BD'%BD| But she did not get along with one of our female dogs. I am not sure if that is a function of her just not liking other girl dogs, or if it is because she really just has not been able to be her true self with her limitations here and therefore may be frustrated. I just don't want to test it further since she is not going to be staying here, and I do think it would be great for her to go to a home where she might be the only pet or perhaps with a male dog, who she could learn to live with. She will walk past other dogs without trying to aggressively pull towards them or act in an aggressive manner%BD'%BD| I have walked her on a leash past our other pet dogs both inside of a kennel and out, and she has basically ignored them, heading towards the door to go outside. So I do not think that she is necessarily dog, aggressive, I just think she does not have good social cues or has never had the opportunity to try to figure that stuff out. This girl is SMART. She has learned basic commands, she is very observant, very attentive, and VERY food motivated. %BD%BD%BCShe is crate trained to a wire kennel, and I have been feeding her in there. This girl is receptive to body handling and puppy massage all over her body. I can touch her all over her feet, I can look in her mouth, I can clean her ears. She does not show any signs of resource guarding%BD'%BD| I can reach into her food bowl, and I can take toys from her. Sometimes she is talkative%BD'%BD| And I think it is just that she is excited for what comes next%BD'%BD| It is not obnoxious, almost like sassy back talk. %BD%BD%BC This girl has EXCELLENT house behavior%BD'%BD| She is energetic at times jumping up on the couch or something like that, but when she can expend her energy properly, her behavior is stellar. She is not destructive at all, she has had the same soft to carry around since she got here. She does not touch things that she should not, she does not pick up inappropriate things, and just in general has great house behavior. This girl loves to cuddle, and loves to give kisses. She likes to get super close and sniff your face and then gives you five or six licks. %BD%BD%BCWhen she is done for the day and we are sitting together, she likes to curl up in a very tiny ball and lay close enough to touch me. She also loves to stretch out and sploots her back legs like a golden retriever sometimes. When I first get home and go to check on her, sometimes she will spin in about 10 circles because she is so excited to see me before she grabs a toy and runs off. She will sometimes jump on people when she is excited, so I do not think she would be good for a family with small children or someone elderly. But again, if she can get some of her energy out then that behavior may stop completely. %BD%BD%BC Y'all%BD'%BD| this is a dog that I think would get overlooked in a shelter. But this is a dog that is a diamond in the rough for sure. She has so much love to give, %BD%BD%BC she has so much adventure in her%BD'%BD| She would be an amazing companion. If you, or someone you know is looking for an amazing dog%BD'%BD| %BD%BD%BCPLEASE let us know!!!l Fully vaccinated, already spayed, crate trained%BD'%BD| Will come with crate and la
