We should be chasing tennis balls, learning how to play fetch, rolling in the grass, making you laugh with our goofy puppy antics, and falling asleep knowing were safe and loved. Instead, we have spent the last 3 months of our puppyhood in a shelter, and now we are out of time. We watched all of our siblings leave, one by one, as they found new homes. We haven't we? Why does no one want us? We dream of growing up in a family. We dream of having someone to call our own. We never imagined wed be facing the end of our lives before they had even truly begun. We would love nothing more than to stay together, but if saving our lives means walking separate paths, we will be brave. We will carry each other in our hearts and hope that one day we will meet again. What matters most is that we both get the chance to live. With the July 4th holiday and the shelter extremely full, our chances are slipping away. Shelters fill with frightened dogs who escape from fireworks, and every new arrival means less space and less time for dogs like us. Please... don't let Saturday July 11th be the day our story ends.
