Domestic Cat
Age: Kitten
Sex: Male

Zorro was found wandering around outside of a friend's house in the more countryside area of Springfield. My friend wasn't able to take him in, due to having three older pets and one younger one to take care of financially. After spending a week of searching around the area and online to find either possible homes for him or anyone who had him but lost him, he was going to leave him as a remaining stray around the area. Zorro was found at the start of October of 2025. Zorro had not been malnourished or skinny when he was found. The only health issues he'd had was a minor case of mites in his ears. It is believed his approximate age at the time was somewhere around four months old, and based on his every day behavior, it is very likely that he had been separated from his mother and siblings somewhat close to when my friend had found Zorro. I eventually ended up agreeing to foster Zorro and continue to look for a new home for him, since I was working on moving in to a pet friendly apartment complex. I took full ownership of him in April of this year, and have had him since. Despite reaching out to many different shelters, I have been unable to find a new home for him, and I am getting desperate. He is very playful and affectionate. He is litter box trained, loves to play with feathered and flocked toys, loves to be petted and can be held without any issues. He is easy to crate when needed, but is somewhat noisy and a bit of an escape artist when in his crate/carrier, so something with a zipper will be needed. I have two carriers with lockable zippers, as well as all of his food, toys, two cat trees, and other supplies that will go with him to his new home. Due to my job, I work long shifts throughout the week, and am unable to afford a second cat. As far as I know, he is eager to get along and play with other cats and dogs, but due to him having been a stray so early on in his life, he tends to be a bit overzealous, and will often push his boundaries so some vigilance on his new owner(s) might be needed when around other pets. The reason why I am so desperate to re-home him is not just because he's by himself in my apartment for long periods each day due to my job, but he also has some high separation anxiety issues. He will constantly be at your feet no matter where you go, and he does scratch at carpeting underneath doors if he is enclosed in a separate room than you. He also asks for play time by biting or clawing at you like he would his toys. It is never with malicious intent. In fact, I don't think he has a mean bone in his body. I just think it is, again, due to a lack of proper behavior learning from being around his mother and other kittens his age. Despite his anxiety and overzealous playing, he truly is a wonderful cat. I just have never wanted a pet due to my job, knowing that I would be gone for too long each day, but I would rather foster him with some issues rather than leaving him as a stray outside as a young kitten. Please feel free to contact me if you are interested at all! I heavily encourage only those with multiple playful cats or those who own a barn and let their cats roam around as mousers to consider Zorro as a pet. He is incredibly prey driven, and will not work well in small apartments or homes with him as the only pet. As far as compatibility with kids go, I am unsure if he is compatible or not. He has been around only one kid since my friend had found him, and he had been very well behaved, but due to his prey-driven playful nature that only seems to be getting worse as time goes on, I would be wary of placing him in a home with babies or young kids. To contact me about Zorro, I only prefer texts or emails. I will not answer phone calls. My phone does not get good service inside my workplace, and I work from very early in the morning to night, so texting or emailing if necessary would be the quickest method of communication.
