About Ruby

We adopted Ruby from California back in September of 2025. We were told that she was about 4 years old, but it is believed that she is more like 2. On her own, she is a spectacular pet. She's very sweet and wants to be with you, but needs to learn boundaries. Unfortunately, she has been getting into some serious fights with our other much older dog and neither has faired well with these encounters. We have had a trainer come to the house multiple times, but with ongoing serious medical issues with one of her parents, we have not been able to follow through appropriately. We currently keep them completely separated by gates, which is not ideal. Ruby is spayed, house trained, crate trained, but will need a fenced in yard because she is an escape artist. She sits for her food until released and loves cookies and toys. We believe her to be partially deaf, only hearing certain tones. This makes her training a little more challenging, but doable because she is very smart.
