I'm only 7 months old. Most puppies my age are still learning about the world, but I've already been through more change than any puppy should have to experience. I've had to try to figure out new people, new rules, and new dogs. The truth is, that's a lot for a young puppy to handle. I am not a fan of cats, and in my last home I struggled with another dog. None of that has given me the consistency that every puppy needs to grow into a confident adult. I am Mouthy / Grabby and overly excited at first but once I get my zoomies out I calm down. The volunteers here see something different. They see a young dog who is affectionate, eager to interact with people, and still figuring life out. They also see a puppy with very little manners but that's okay! Manners can be taught and I'm improving every day! What I need most is someone willing to teach me. My shelter friends are helping to figure out if I could potentially live with another dog. I also think I'd be happiest with older or dog-savvy children who understand how to respectfully interact with an energetic young dog. I need a patient, confident leader who will give me structure, clear expectations, and most importantly, time. Time to decompress. Time to trust. Time to learn. I'm still just a puppy. I'm neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Please don't assume I'm broken. See a puppy who's been asked to start over and who still greets people with hope in his heart. Maybe what I've been missing all along isn't another home. Maybe it's my forever home.
