About Hank

Hank is AKC registered German Shepherd. Limited registration. NO BREEDING RIGHTS. This dog should never be bred and should NOT have been bred! Personality galore and NO NERVE! Bred by Bear Paw Farms in NC. Embark tested negative to many hereditary ailments, including DM. He's 100% GSD. He is 29' at the shoulders and very large. His disposition is pleasant and happy. Loves Chuck-It and follows all specific directions to play. Depositing the ball, eye contact and wait for command to retrieve or not. Loves the game. Purchased and privately owned. Retired trainer of LE. Hank is not a candidate for protection training. He has had extensive training in obedience and house manners. His best friend is a cat. He is an excellent livestock guardian of chickens and will do his best to dispatch any threat to them, including but not limited to opossum, raccoons or bobcats. He is trained to retrieve packages and has an excellent nose. The dog does not respect his current handler when he is confronted with a situation where he becomes fearful. Poorly bred! He is 'plush coated' and it's similar to what a polar bear should sport! Though he is raised in a home with over an acre of fenced property, his size prevents me from continuing his training. I'm not capable of physically handling him if he should become reactive. He's too big and strong and weighs nearly what I weigh. He's not willing to load into my suv for fearfullness. And I do not force any issues with him. However, I've never known a dog to adhere to rules, especially in the house, the way that Hank does. Trained to rooms off limits, he will not enter and eat cat food sitting on the floor! He's really an interesting dog, I simply cannot handle him. Having had play meets as a young dog, he became pushy and is a bully. Never involved in a dog fight. Perfect dog for a man who knows Shepherds and is willing to work him. Obedience in many languages and hand signals only too! The dog has been thoroughly trained. If I had someone to help with him, he'd not be up for adoption. I'm 72 and 118 pounds. Hank could easily best me!
