Tashi was rescued from an animal shelter after being dumped in the night drop without explanation. She appeared calm and regulated and highly trained, yet my older dog and I are finding that we do not have the physical or mental resources to keep up with Tashi's energy and need for companionship. She was well-nourished and well cared for by her previous guardian but the uncertainty created by being left overnight in a harsh environment needs love and patience to overcome. Tashi needs help understanding that she is truly safe and that she will not be abandoned to fend for herself. She thrives on companionship and clear direction. I have invested in a trainer to help understand her needs and how to support her and have been working with her daily for 3 months. Tashi is a beautiful and intelligent working dog who loves to cuddle, play and be with her human companions. At the open dog space, she loves playing with other dogs and chases balls and frisbees. She is very agile and knows her basic commands and is housetrained on a schedule (will have accidents if not let out within certain timeframes, which are increasing in length). She is very protective of our family - really loves my older daughter who engages Tashi with play and hugs. She crates inside at night and can crate in the car for 1-2 hours peacefully with a treat and darkness. She can be just as calm as she is high-energy! Tashi is such a loving pup and allows for touch anywhere as well as being held and picked up. Her colorations are beautiful, she turns heads everywhere she goes and loves attention from gentle people. She's a noteworthy heeler and wonderful companion and guardian. Tashi's adoption cost includes leashes, gentle lead, bed, a crate and vibration collar.
