About Cisco

Cisco is a fun, intelligent, and affectionate dog looking for a family that will make him a true part of their everyday life. He forms deep bonds with his people and loves being by their side, making him an incredibly loyal companion. He's a blue merle schnauzer mix who is about 3 years old. Cisco is happiest in a home where someone is around most of the day-whether that's someone who works from home, is retired, or can provide a dog walker or daycare when needed. He thrives on companionship, daily exercise, and activities that keep both his mind and body engaged. Because Cisco is an active boy, he must have a securely fenced yard where he can safely burn off energy. Apartment, condo, or other shared-wall living is not a good fit for him, as he can become vocal when left alone. Cisco is still working through some behavioral challenges and is looking for a patient adopter who is committed to helping him continue to succeed. He experiences separation anxiety, cannot tolerate being crated for long periods, and may be reactive to some dogs, people, and motorcycles while on walks. He also pulls on the leash and can be anxious in new environments, so he'll need time to settle into his new home. His ideal family will use positive reinforcement training, provide a consistent routine, and understand that building trust takes time. Previous dog ownership experience is strongly preferred, especially with active or anxious dogs. A quieter, stable household with an active lifestyle and someone looking for a constant companion would be a wonderful match for Cisco.
