About Slim

Meet Slim! This seventy-pound Red Heeler is in search of his forever home, looking for a place where he can run and play. Slim loves to go camping, hiking, and swimming, and he will be your perfect adventure buddy for any outdoor excursion. Slim is a cautious fellow but once he gets to know you, he is very social. He will need a single owner who is in touch with him but not super dominant as he does have some fear of aggressive behavior - likely this was from his previous home and will go away as he becomes bonded with his new person. He was with a foster who diligently worked with him on socialization and made great progress. He is a herding breed so he does have those tendencies naturally, therefore we do recommend a home that has just one active person to help keep him busy. He gets protective of his person and has some difficulty with other people being around. He is good with other dogs as he has had a couple of roommates here and was in a multi-dog home previously. We are recommending a home with a single guy who wants a travel buddy at this time as he does seem to 'pick' a person in the home to bond with. He is very house trained and very treat and food-motivated, which is great for training, and he is already current on his vaccines and is neutered and microchipped. His adoption fee is $150.
