HELP!!! CODE RED- 7/8 DEADLINE- ANIMAL RESOURCE CENTER (ARC) in ONTARIO, CA IN So Cal - ID #A009986 'EARL'- SHY 8 yr GERMAN SHEPHERD/CHOW X BOY NEEDS OUT ASAP AT GREAT RISK IN HIGH KILL SHELTER since 12/16. AVAILABLE TO ADOPT, BUT SHELTER IS OVERFULL and EUTHANIZING ADOPTABLE DOGS AND GIVES LITTLE TIME. WE ARE THEREFORE ALSO DESPERATELY LOOKING FOR A FOSTER AND RESCUE TO SAVE HIS LIFE. RESCUES NEED FOSTERS TO HELP! Dear Earl was found as a stray, and no owner sadly reclaimed him. He is estimated to be 8 years old and weighs 51 lbs. thus he is the perfect size. We have a copy of his shelter and medical notes: 1869a189-f317-42c7-9b77-07871b5bde04.pdf that further state, 'Timid at kennel, easy to get out and in kennel, walks well on a leash, can see but not very well kept bumping into me.' The shelter further told us, 'I took Earl A009986 out for a walk. He does have a black tongue. I've attached pictures of him but don't have a video. He hasn't had a dog-to-dog assessment, however, if you are interested in him, I can do that for you. He does have some difficulty walking due to the structure of his legs. He will lip lick and put ears back when I pet him but allows it and has not attempted to snap before. He is available for both adoption and rescue.' His medical notes he has 'limited vision, elbows abducted from body, enlarged bilaterally decreased rom., narrow base stance hind limbs, decreased muscle mass, stiff gait'. Earl has since been placed on carprofen and Gabapentin to make him feel better. Unfortunately, because the shelter is so full, the shelter put out a notice that says Earl needs commitment by 7/8 at 5 pm, or he may be euthanized without further warning. Therefore, if you are interested in adopting or rescuing Earl, please contact the shelter immediately by calling and reference his applicable ID. Here is his listing link: https://24Petconnect.com/DetailsMain/ARCI/A009986 If you are interested just to foster, or foster to adopt, or if you need further help, please contact [email protected] or Southern California Chow Chow Rescue Network asap as we are trying to find fosters we can then refer to a rescue group to save him in time. If you are a rescue group and interested in pulling this handsome guy, or can adopt, please email the shelter right away at: [email protected] and call (909) 321-1080. Most animals altered, microchipped, vaccinated for no fee to rescue partners. He would also be neutered for an adopter.
