Chubbs is a 5 year old Newfoundland who loves spending time with people just relaxing laying nearby you. He enjoys swimming, going for walks, and playing fetch. He is a generally happy dog that brings joy to all people around him. He is reactive towards large dogs, specifically huskies and German shepherds. Otherwise he is great with small to medium dogs and cats, especially those well socialized. He loves kids and gravitates towards monitoring them whenever they are around. He is a great home protection dog and would be a great addition to anyone's property/family home. Medically he has some skin issues that are pretty easy to manage. He currently eats open farm, beef and ancient grains recipe, which he tolerates well. He is allergic to chicken and gluten which made the process of finding him a tolerable food challenging. He has to be on a strict diet otherwise he gets hot spots and general itchiness. He is also allergic to his vaccinations so he has to have a Benadryl shot with administration. His skin issues also lead to a need for him to be bathed every 2-3 weeks otherwise he gets flakey dandruffs and is itchy/uncomfortable. He is an amazing dog and it breaks my heart to even be writing this. I would be keeping him if it was not for my current financial hardship and the inability to give him the amount of time and exercise he deserves.
