HARRIET is an absolutely precious 4%BD-year-old little girl who weighs 17.14 pounds. She came to us after both of her beloved owners recently passed away, leaving her with nowhere to go. While we're heartbroken for everything she's been through, we're determined to find her the loving forever home she deserves. HARRIET'S best home will have another dog in it for companionship and a calmer home with no little kids. Now, here's where HARRIET'S story gets a little funny! According to her previous owners, her veterinary records, and her paperwork from Petland, HARRIET is a Labradoodle. But that's definitely not what she appears to be! Our best guess is that she's a Wirehaired Dachshund mix with something else thrown in for good measure. Whatever her breed may be, she's absolutely adorable. She looks scruffy but she has a beautifully soft coat. HARRIET is a very friendly girl who settled into her foster home right away. She has a wonderfully sweet, laid-back personality. She'll bark if something catches her attention, but she's not an excessive barker. She's content to relax, watch what's going on around her, and be part of the family. We haven't seen much interest in toys yet, but that may change as she settles in. HARRIET gets along well with other dogs. She previously lived with a large dog, so we think she'd enjoy having a calm canine companion in her new home. She doesn't need a young or playful dog, just another friendly dog friend. She's never been around young kids and she would do best in a calm home with adults or teenagers. We do not know how she would be with cats. HARRIET is supposedly pad trained but she is close to being fully housebroken to outside as well. She will just need somebody to take her outside and walk with her and give her lots of praise as she learns the routine and what's expected of her in a new home. One thing we've noticed is that she doesn't like going outside by herself. We're not sure if she had an unpleasant experience outdoors or simply lacks confidence, but if you walk outside with her, she's perfectly happy to explore. She walks nicely on a leash and loves going for car rides. HARRIET hasn't figured out the ramp to the bed yet, so she'll politely stand beside the bed and wait for you to pick her up. Once she's there, she's happiest sleeping in the big bed with her person. HARRIET is spayed, up to date on shots, heartworm negative, has had a ProHeart 12 heartworm prevention shot and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. *To meet or adopt one of our dogs, you must first submit an adoption application for review.
