We typically respond within 24 hours if you do not hear from us after completing the application please send us an email [email protected] Approximate DOB 2/24/2024 - 13 lbs History: The momma and her 4 babies were surrendered to the local shelter as strays. Momma was very protective of her puppies and threatening to bite so they requested rescue. We agreed and momma has shown what a sweet girl she is and the babies have thrived and are now ready to find their happily ever afters. Momma is Lola and babies are Locket, Curio, Trinket, and Bauble. Current Behavior: Still hates meeting new people so would do best in a quiet home or with someone who wants to continue working on her socialization skills. She loves her one person she chooses to bond with but pretty much hates everyone else until they can gain her trust which can take quit some time. If you are looking for a dog who is friendly and loves or even likes everyone they meet she might not be the girl for you unless you want to work on that. For the person she bonds with and loves she is a gem!!! Perfect little girl who will just love you so much she won't want to leave your side. She is very smart and loving. She is very energetic and can be super hyper when you first get home. She is very very sweet loves to cuddle on the couch and is and is learning to play with toys. Lola was very protective of her puppies at the shelter- growling and threatening- but as far as we know she never actually bit anyone. She took a few days to get to know me and now loves nothing more than sitting in my lap all the time. She has met some volunteers and family and is warming up to strangers better but she is still one of those dogs who doesn't trust strangers easily and could possibly get snappy if pushed to fast. She is learning to have fun and play with toys and she loves guarding the yard against anything and anyone. She is a special little girl who will need a special understanding home that can give her the time and space she needs to trust you. Housetraining- When she first got here she had quite a few accidents. However, then she learned the dog door and was perfect. Now she is also crate trained and has times loose in the house to run around, play, and cuddle. I would say she is house trained here but whoever adopts her will need to be understanding if she did have accidents initially. Cats/Dogs - She is fine with my cat but she hates most other dogs. She tolerates my German Shepherd but he is super stable thank goodness because even now that she loves him she will guard her treats from him and can be territorial with her crate and my lap if I do not correct it. Her ideal home is loving, very active, can give her lots of attention and outdoor activities but give her some space and lots of treats to get to bond. She will do best with no young children and older children will need to understand that they must give her space and treats to get to know them (as I said before if pushed she may snap at someone to warn them to keep their distance). She is such an amazing little girl full of energy and love. She follows me around like a tiny shadow always wanting to keep an eye on me. When we relax she sits in my lap and just enjoys her ears and back being pet. She has met several dogs here and is not a fan- so will do best as a one and only. She is a sweet girl who just wants love and her own family who won't let her end up in the situation she was found in - she was so matted they had to sedate her just to shave her. She will need a lot of future grooming as her hair is pretty fine and matts easily so if you are not prepared to pay a groomer probably every 4 weeks then I do not recommend adopting her. Spayed, microchipped, and current on all vaccinations Adoption Fee $250 We do welcome out-of-state adoptions. Adopters must make arrangements to come out to meet and complete the adoption. If you have other dogs it is recommended you bring them out to to the meeting.
