REMMI is a handsome 20-month-old, 10.6 pound black-and-tan Dachshund surrendered because of his owner's medical issues. REMMI's perfect match is a family with another little dog and a fenced yard who will give him lots of love and patience as he grows confident in a new home. REMMI is still a very timid little guy who needs time to feel safe and build trust. He isn't the type of dog who will run up to strangers with a wagging tail, but once he knows you're his person, he is incredibly loyal and loving. He simply needs a patient adopter who will let him adjust at his own pace. REMMI would do best in a home with another small companion dog, preferably a female. He seems much more confident around female dogs and especially enjoys playing with a little Dachshund in his foster home. He's also discovered that toys are a lot of fun. Because of his timid nature, REMMI has not been tested with young children and would do best in a home with adults or teenagers. We do not know how he is with cats. A securely fenced yard is a must for REMMI. He has learned to use the dog door and is doing very well with his house training. While he isn't quite 100% reliable yet, he's very close. Like many shy dogs, fear in a new environment may cause an occasional accident until he feels comfortable. At bedtime, REMMI loves sleeping in the big bed with his people and happily uses a ramp to climb up on the bed by himself. REMMI is neutered, up to date on shots, heartworm negative, has had a ProHeart 12 heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. *To meet or adopt one of our dogs, you must first submit an adoption application for review.
