LOCAL ADOPTION ONLY - Within a one hour drive to Pensacola, FL Meet KNICKKNACK! KNICKKNACK is an adorable Chihuahua mix puppy born on April 22nd. He will be ready to go home on June 26th. His mom, TRINKET, weighs 16 pounds. We do not know who his dad is. KNICKKNACK is the largest puppy in the litter. This scruffy tri-colored boy is curious, confident, and often seems to take on a leadership role among his siblings. He enjoys affection and attention from his people but is also happy to strike out on his own to investigate something new. He approaches life with confidence and is usually one of the first puppies to check out a new toy, sound, or adventure. KNICKKNACK gets along well with the other dogs in his foster home and loves older children. He enjoys wrestling with his siblings, chasing toys, and playing with small plush toys and toys that crinkle or make noise. He is always excited to greet visitors and never misses an opportunity to hand out puppy kisses. As expected for a puppy his age, KNICKKNACK is not housebroken. He is working on pad training and making progress, although he still occasionally thinks puppy pads are fun to tear apart. He is curious, mischievous, and requires close supervision. Like most puppies, he enjoys chewing and exploring the world with his mouth. When his foster family is away, KNICKKNACK stays in a puppy pen and does well. He enjoys watching the larger dogs come and go from the yard and has quickly learned how to navigate the two steps to the couch. His confidence and curiosity continue to grow every day. KNICKKNACK recently spent his first night sleeping in the big bed with his foster family and did very well. He used the puppy pads placed in the bedroom and continues learning household routines. KNICKKNACK is already microchipped and will have had two sets of puppy vaccines before going home. He will need a third set in about three weeks. The rescue will handle his third puppy vaccine, neuter, and rabies vaccine when he is old enough, all of which are covered by the adoption fee. Because he is not fully vaccinated, KNICKKNACK cannot go outside until after his third puppy vaccine to keep him safe from parvo. Like all young puppies, he will need a family committed to continued training, socialization, supervision, and all of the time and patience that come with raising a puppy. *To meet or adopt one of our dogs, you must first submit an adoption application for review.
