About Howie

Howie has come a long way in CAA's care. After a rough start, he's spent the last few weeks recovering from his neuter surgery in a loving foster home, where he's truly blossomed. His foster placement is only temporary, and he must return to the shelter soon - a transition that will be stressful for him. We'd love to see him go straight from foster care to a forever home instead. Howie is sweet, smart, energetic, and eager to please. He's crate trained, potty trained, quiet, loves being with his person, and enjoys playing with other dogs. He forms strong bonds and is happiest by your side. Because Howie wasn't well socialized as a puppy and came from an unsettling situation, new experiences like loud trucks or busy environments can be intimidating. He's looking for a patient person who will help build his confidence and continue showing him that the world is a safe place. While a fenced yard isn't required, it would be a great fit for his energy level and desire to play.
