Coal is a two-year-old pit bull/terrier mix. He barely survived parvo as a very young puppy- but that meant we kept him away from other dogs when he was young and he missed out on key socialization. He is high energy, needs walks and lots of playtime. Recently, he has shown levels of unpredictability around strangers - no broken skin but aggressive and territorial behaviors. We have young children with lots of friends and we are worried about what might happen. He has show resource aggression around food, treats, and toys. He is also very territorial of our yard, his crate, and the front of our home. Coal would do very well as a farm dog or with a large space to run. When it is just us at home, he is loving and good with the kids. He loves to play tug-of-war, fetch, etc.
