Name: Meeka Age: 5 years old Breed: Border Collie, AKC Registered, 35 pounds Sex: Female (spayed) Location: Coos County, Oregon Meeka was an owner surrender to a Vet. She needs a home where she can thrive. Vet Info: Meeka is microchipped, she is spayed, up to date with her vaccinations but not recently HW tested (Vet can do that if wanted). She has diabetes with advanced cataracts impairing her vision. Meeka is responding great to her insulin (she has gained 10 pounds in the month that she has been with the vet. She is currently on 12 units of Novolin. Dog Info: Meeka takes a little bit to warm up to you and is really coming out of her shell since her health has improved. If she is somewhere unfamiliar, she wants to be with her person. She has good recall and will stay in hearing and smelling distance. She does very well off leash and will check in by nose booping her persons legs. She is an indoor dog who is crated but is housebroken and leash trained. She is very smart, knows 'down' and 'sit' and possibly other commands but she hasn't been challenged in the month that she has been with the vet. Meeka is outgoing once she gets over her shyness getting to know her people. She is good with men, women, children of all ages and all animals. She is not at all possessive of treats, toys or food and has shown no aggression whatsoever. **Owner Surrender Disclaimer: These are blind and visually impaired dogs who are living in homes, but their owners can no longer keep them.
