AT RISK FOR SURRENDER/EUTHANIZATION! PLEASE HELP!!! Columbus, Ohio. (Willing to drive up to 400 miles.) 6.5 Y/O MALE GSD (DOB: 2/15/2020). His name is 'Caesar'. Background: Current Shepherd Parent has had Caesar for 5 years after adopting him from a shelter. UTD on shots WITH record. Fixed. Good with kids. Good with dogs, but Caesar is Leash Reactive when he sees other dogs while on walks. However, he does great with his play group at Doggy Daycare and enjoys interacting with other dogs when he is off leash in a controlled environment. NOT Good with cats. Caesar currently lives with a cat and has attempted to attack it. House trained. Crate trained. Any known medical issues?: Caesar has severe Separation Anxiety. He currently takes Fluoxetine (Prozac) 80 mg daily. Approximately two hours before he is left alone, he also receives Trazodone 300 mg and Gabapentin 900 mg. His monthly medications average approximately $40. His medications have helped tremendously, but he still struggles when left completely alone. Abuse/Neglect/Trauma History?: None disclosed. ENERGY LEVEL: Medium. PREY DRIVE LEVEL: High. Weighs 85 lbs. Currently on Purina One Adult food. Good with car rides?: Yes. Socialized with: *People?: Yes. *Dogs?: Yes. Good with meeting new people? (ALWAYS USE PROPER INTRODUCTION!): Yes. Loves: Sniffing outside, soft surfaces, peanut butter, stuffed Kong toys with peanut butter, people, cuddling, walks, chilling on the couch, playing with kids, playing with dogs, being near his person, chew bones, and treats. *Intelligent and knows Basic Commands?: This breed is super intelligent. *Good Recall? (ALWAYS RETRAIN BEFORE ALLOWING OFF LEASH): No. *Good on a Leash?: Yes, but Caesar becomes Leash Reactive when he sees other dogs while walking. *Lovable?: This breed is super lovable once they claim you as their person/family. *Eager and fast learner?: This breed is super fast learners when they are being committed to and worked with.
