X URGENT!! SWEET SENIOR GIRL AT FULL SHELTER! LANCASTER, CA (SO CAL) - ID #A5784625 'CHARITY' - LA COUNTY SHELTER/LANCASTER - APPROX 47 LB, 10 YR old CHOW/HUSKY X - IN URGENT NEED OF A GOOD HOME OR FOSTER AND RESCUE, OR THIS POOR GIRL WILL BE EUTHANIZED SOON FOR SPACE!! We are in urgent need of finding a loving, forever home, or foster & rescue for this very sweet and friendly, adorable, but very neglected female chow or chow mix, she was found unbelievably resting in the street and no owner has come forward. She has been fondly named Charity and the shelter estimated she is 10 years old and she weighs 47 lbs so she is perfectly sized. Charity was easy to examine and reverting the highest score of 1. Shelter exam notes state, 'sweet allows handling; Overall body posture: Upright, Relaxed/Flexible, Wiggly, Approaches readily; Ears: Neutral Eyes: Soft eye gaze Mouth: Lips long and soft Vocalizing: Quiet' Additionally, Charity was taken to the playyard where she met other dogs, and shelter said she is social with other dogs, but would do best with calm dogs since she has a weaker hind end. the shelter has now placed her on gabapentin which should help. Charity was further noted as being tolerant of other dogs sniffing her, did not engage in play, and contuned to be calm. She would seek attention from the handlers. Medical notes state, 'small poss mass/sist left thigh, back end wobbly, muscle atrophy hind end and pelvis, slow gate and to get up ambulates 4x'. She is now on Gabapentin to see her improvement. We have a complete set of notes upon request, but there is nothing glaring for a dog her age. Charity is also believed to already be spayed. Unfortunately, Charity is at an already full shelter with the 4th of July week ahead when shelters have to euthanize many for space. She is expected to be on the euthanasia list soon. Please help us save her!! She can be adopted with a medical waiver to follow up with a vet since she is a senior.
