Joy is an absolute sweetheart,6-year-old, 9lb spayed and house-trained female looking for a loving new home. For the first four years of her life, she was used for breeding, but she is now ready to enjoy the life she truly deserves-one filled with comfort, love, and companionship. She was recently diagnosed with Protein-Losing Enteropathy (PLE)-which simply means her body has a harder time holding onto protein-but thanks to the devoted care of her previous elderly owners who can no longer care for her, her bloodwork remains excellent. With a consistent low-fat diet (Hill's Low Fat) and routine veterinary monitoring, Joy is expected to continue living a happy, comfortable life. Her ongoing care is very manageable but does include a commitment to her special diet and routine checkups, averaging about $100/month. Joy is reliably house-trained, with only two accidents in her lifetime, and she clearly lets you know when she needs to go outside. She especially enjoys standing in the warm sun, so a fenced yard would be a wonderful bonus. She's also a smart girl and knows several commands, including: Stay, Dinner, Drop, PeePee, Outside, Walk, and 'Get Dressed' (for her harness/leash). Joy thrives in a quiet, low-energy environment. She's the perfect companion for someone who enjoys peaceful moments-whether that's relaxing on the couch or soaking up the sunshine. She loves curling up beside you on a soft blanket, or even perching on the back of the sofa right behind your head to stay close. When she wants to play with toys, she really enjoys them and loves the challenge of getting the squeaker out. What she truly loves is affection-gentle scratches behind her ears, along her back, and on her tummy. Joy is ready to bring comfort, companionship, and quiet joy to the right home.
