After his lifelong owner had to enter nursing care, Mako found himself looking for a second lease on life. He arrived at the rescue shy, shut down, and in pain from bad teeth. Thanks to our amazing vets, Mako had a full dental checkup and had 4 painful teeth removed. Wow, what a difference! Mako is like a brand new cat-pain-free, playful, active, and bursting with affection. He is already down a pound from a more active lifestyle. ��%90� The Ultimate Snuggle Buddy Once Mako gets to know you, he is all love. He is a champion cuddler who wants to be right by your side. Full-Body Purrs: He has a deep, rumbling purr that vibrates through his entire body when you pet him. Any Way You Like: He loves being pet forwards, backwards, and-yes, really-he even loves belly rubs! Chin Rub Fanatic: He will lean his head heavily into your hands and look up at you adoringly for chin scratches. The Sofa & Bed Companion: Mako loves snuggling tightly with you on the couch during the day and sleeping right next to you in bed at night. Chirp for Food: When he is hungry and ready for dinner, he will let out the most endearing little chirp to let you know! �s%BD Playtime & Handling Don't let his age or 16 lb size fool you-Mako has unlocked his inner kitten! Toy Lover: He still loves to play, especially soft balls, whether they are rolling across the floor or dangling from strings. Gentle Giant: He is okay with being picked up and held for short periods, but because of his large size, he needs to be fully supported. ��%8F� His Ideal Forever Home Mako is looking for a relaxed, loving environment where he can truly shine. The Vibe: He prefers a calm, predictable household. It doesn't need to be silent, but a chaotic or overly busy home would be too overwhelming for him. Kids: Because he is a big boy who requires proper physical support when held, he would need to be supervised around toddlers who may try to pick him up. Gentle, older, cat-savvy kids should be just fine. Other Pets: Mako lived peacefully with his sister his whole life. Because of his incredibly chill personality, he would do wonderful as a solo king of the castle or joined by a gentle, friendly resident cat or dog. Mako went through a tough transition, but he has bounced back with so much joy and gratitude. He is fully vetted, healthy, pain-free, and ready to fill your home with deep purrs and tight snuggles.
