ժ URGENT: Looking for an experienced home for a very special dog before he enters a shelter. Please share. ժ This handsome boy was found as a very young puppy outside an ambulance station. Unfortunately, he spent the first few months of his life in isolation while being treated for worms, so he missed out on many of the critical socialization experiences puppies normally have. He is now about a year old and is believed to be a Black Mouth Cur/Catahoula or other working-breed mix. He is incredibly smart, athletic, goofy, affectionate with the people he trusts, and absolutely loves carrying things around, chewing on bones, and being close to his family. Unfortunately, as he's matured, he's also developed some behavioral challenges. He has recently become protective of his food and has had incidents involving young children, so he cannot be placed in a home with children. Because of this, his current family has made the heartbreaking decision that they can no longer keep him. We are trying everything we can to keep him out of a shelter, where his chances may be very limited due to his behavioral history. We believe he would do best with: 'ۢ An experienced dog owner 'ۢ A home without children 'ۢ Someone familiar with working breeds 'ۢ A farm, ranch, or acreage where he has room to run and a job to do 'ۢ Someone willing to continue training and provide structure and patience This is not a beginner's dog. He deserves someone who understands that intelligent working dogs sometimes need guidance, consistency, and an outlet for their minds and energy. We are committed to being completely honest about his history because we want to find the right match-not just any home. If you are experienced with working breeds, know someone who is, or are involved with a rescue that specializes in behavioral or working dogs, please reach out as soon as possible. Even if you can't take him, sharing this post could help save his life. Please help us find this boy the second chance he deserves. %9D%A4%8F
