Dwight is a great companion. He struggles with reactivity towards new people and dogs/anxiety, but when he warms up and feels safe, he is loyal, fun, and well behaved. When meeting new people, Dwight will usually bark but settle quickly if he is being ignored by the person for the first little bit. He has been through multiple training programs and walks in heel on a leash, knows lots of commands (down, place, sit, roll over, off, inside, spin, and more and we are working on getting him 100% comfortable in his crate (though his separation anxiety is much better when hanging out in a gated off space like a dining room vs the crate). We feel strongly that Dwight would do best in a home without young children and with someone who is familiar with and knows how to handle more anxious dogs. It is so important to us that he get to a home where he can continue training and working on overcoming his challenges, but also be loved unconditionally and given the attention he deserves.
