About Latte

Adoption Fee: $1000
Whippet
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

**Rescue Story** On a bitterly cold winter day, January 7, 2026, two Whippets were reported abandoned on a roadside. The dogs were extremely underweight-thin enough that their bones were visible-yet they were still wearing clothes, making it clear they had been deliberately discarded by humans. The two dogs, later named **Latte** and **Tosi**, are believed to be siblings and appear to have lived together their entire lives. Our team immediately rescued them, provided medical evaluations, and began rehabilitation care. Although we are actively investigating the individuals responsible for their abandonment, only circumstantial evidence has been secured so far, making legal action difficult at this time. After more than a month of careful recovery and observation, both dogs are now healthy and emotionally stable enough to begin their adoption journey. While a **bonded adoption** would be ideal, we are also open to placing them separately in exceptional homes if it means long-term safety and love. --- ### **Personality** Latte has a gentle, affectionate temperament and is often described as having a soft, almost 'sweet and ladylike' demeanor. He is calm, observant, and emotionally sensitive, yet still enjoys playtime and interaction. * **With dogs:** Excellent. He loves other dogs and plays well. * **With cats:** Friendly and curious-he wants to greet all animals. * **With adults & children:** Loves everyone. Very people-oriented and affectionate. **Energy level (1-10):** * Latte: 7 at peak excitement Overall, Latte is moderate-energy and well-balanced. --- ### **Daily Life & Behavior** * **Bathing:** Not a fan of water, but cooperative and gentle. He may tremble during baths but remains calm and manageable. * **Leash manners:** Excellent. Calm and focused during walks. * **House training:** * Uses pee pads indoors (about 80% accuracy). * Latte tends to use the edge of the pad. * Both dogs have designated areas for bowel movements. * They defecate frequently during walks, indicating high potential for full outdoor potty training. * **Barking/Howling:** * Occasional barking when hearing other dogs outside. * Latte briefly showed howling due to separation anxiety, but this resolved completely within 3 days and is believed to have been situational. * **Car rides:** No known motion sickness (Tosi experiences motion sickness, Latte does not). --- ### **Food & Resource Behavior** Latte has a strong food drive, likely due to past neglect. He eats well and loves treats. Tosi shows mild food-guarding behaviors toward Latte (blocking access, guarding his bowl) but **never shows aggression**. Latte himself is gentle and non-confrontational. --- ### **Likes & Dislikes** * **Loves:** Human laps, physical affection, food, toys * **Dislikes:** Butt wiping --- ### **Training** * No formal commands yet * Responds to recall approximately 80% of the time * Will stand up on his hind legs when someone pats their chest and calls him * Runs out excitedly when he hears 'Mom is leaving!' --- ### **Current Living Situation** Currently in a foster home following group rescue. --- ### **Ideal Home** Latte (and ideally Tosi) is looking for a family who: * Understands the **Whippet breed**, including their sensitivity and need for warmth and closeness * Values gentle handling and emotional security * Is committed to lifelong companionship Latte and Tosi are deeply bonded-sleeping together, playing together, and relying on each other emotionally. A home that welcomes both would be a dream come true. However, we are open to separate adoptions if each dog is placed in an exceptionally loving and stable environment. --- **Latte in three words:** Gentle, affectionate, emotionally intuitive ժ Adoption Fee Information The adoption fee already includes all major expenses, such as: International transportation, Customs and export documentation, Medical care (spay surgery, vaccinations, health certificate, deworming, etc.) For this reason, we kindly ask that you refrain from requesting a breakdown or negotiation of the adoption fee.
