Sparky is a playful and affectionate two-year-old boy who has captured the hearts of the dog-walking volunteers. He and his brother arrived at the shelter before their first birthday after being gifted to an 82-year-old grandmother whose small trailer simply wasn't the right environment for two energetic young dogs. Sparky loves getting out for walks and is always ready for fun, especially if squeaky toys are involved! His cheerful personality and enthusiasm for life make him a joy to spend time with. He has also done well with other dogs and enjoys canine companionship. While he is not a full-bred border collie, the traits associated with that breed are very evident in this extremely bright boy. With the people he knows, Sparky is sweet, well-behaved, and eager to please. He forms strong bonds with his trusted humans and enjoys spending time with them. Sparky can be uncertain when meeting new people and would benefit from an adopter who is willing to help him build confidence through patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement. Because of his current unpredictability around unfamiliar people, we are not recommending a home with young children at this time. The good news is that Sparky is a very bright, highly trainable dog who responds well to guidance and encouragement. With the right home and continued training, he has tremendous potential to grow in confidence and thrive as a devoted companion. Sparky is looking for a home that can offer him a little time, consistency, and understanding as he continues to grow into his best self. In return, he'll reward his family with loyalty, fun, and plenty of love. This wonderful young dog is ready for the fresh start he deserves. %90%BE%9D%A4%8F
