Urgent: Max Needs a Hero Before 6/26 at 4 PM Meet Max (A290015) - an 8-year-old male Belgian Malinois with a heart as big as his love for life. Max arrived at PCACC after his owner passed away and, heartbreakingly, there was no one able to care for him. Despite losing the person he loved, Max has remained incredibly sweet, friendly, and full of joy. At 65 pounds, Max is the perfect mix of handsome, goofy, and lovable. He adores staff and volunteers, enjoys the company of other dogs, and while he's not much of a wrestler or rough-and-tumble player, he's happy to hang out and be part of the group. His true passion? TOYS! Give this boy a toy and watch his eyes light up. Even at 8 years old, Max still has plenty of energy and enthusiasm for life. Max does face some medical challenges. He has old injuries to his elbow and spine that give him a wobbly gait, making it look like each leg has its own agenda when he runs. But don't tell Max he's supposed to slow down-he still loves to run, play, and enjoy every moment. He has also been diagnosed with heartworm and will need continued veterinary care. PCACC will provide his current medications upon adoption, and his future family will need to help him continue his treatment journey. The shelter is not the place for a dog with Max's complex medical needs. What he needs is a soft bed, a loving family, his favorite toys, and a chance to spend his golden years surrounded by comfort and care. Max is one of the friendliest, sweetest boys you'll ever meet.
