Adoption, foster placement, or rescue will save him. JASPER came to the SLA shelter last month as a stray dog. He once had an owner but, sadly, was not claimed. Shelter life is understandably confusing for this lovable boy and, like many dogs, so much prolonged cage confinement is hard on him. Deadlined for euthanasia due to in-kennel behavior towards staff (growling, snapping, baring teeth when staff is at his kennel door), JASPER needs a safe exit from the shelter by WEDNESDAY 6/24 at 8AM. He is available for foster, adoption, or rescue. Notably, JASPER has been well-mannered with handlers whenever taken out of his kennel. He rolled over for belly rubs, showed off his commands for treats, and was just a very sweet, low energy guy when we had him out. He is a playgroup participant with a gentle, dainty playstyle. He has been described as both tolerant and selective during his 10 playgroup outings. He is picky with the male dogs he socializes with, and has needed management for mounting other dogs. (Note: JASPER is currently unaltered but will be neutered with any adoption or foster placement). This sweet, gorgeous, young pup needs a fair chance and new beginnings. Who can help him?
