Meet Apollo! Location: Manvel, TX DOB: 5/23/23 Apollo is a sweet, gentle boy who may be shy at first, but once he trusts you, he's an absolute cuddle bug. This handsome pup takes time to warm up to new people and situations, but his loving personality shines through when he feels safe. One of his favorite ways to show affection is by gently booping your nose with his own, and when he's especially excited, he'll break into adorable vertical bunny hops. Apollo has an average energy level and enjoys relaxing with a good chew bone. He's housebroken, rides well in the car, walks nicely on a leash, and has made tremendous progress with crate training. Being in the crate isn't a problem for him-he was simply nervous about going in at first. With patience and encouragement, he's now only slightly reluctant and continues to improve. This sensitive boy is naturally timid and cautious. Most new things can be scary until he learns they're safe, but he has never shown aggression. Even when frightened or feeling cornered, he responds by rolling over and showing his belly rather than acting defensively. He will need a family that understands fearful dogs and is willing to let him build confidence at his own pace. Apollo gets along wonderfully with other dogs. He currently lives with a Great Dane mix foster brother and is frequently around a small 12-pound dog. When he first arrived, he relied heavily on his foster brother for reassurance, following him everywhere. As he's grown more confident, he's become less dependent, though another calm, friendly dog in his new home would likely help him adjust more quickly. That said, he could also thrive as an only dog with the right family. While his behavior around cats is unknown, Apollo absolutely adores children. In fact, a two-year-old child was the very first person he learned to trust. He happily naps with her and often sleeps in the room with the family's two- and five-year-old children. Depending on the activity level, he may occasionally choose to observe from a distance until things settle down, but he has always been gentle and loving. Because of his timid nature, Apollo can be especially sensitive to sudden movements, particularly from men. He will do best in a calm, patient home where his family is committed to earning his trust and helping him continue building confidence. Once he feels safe, you'll discover a devoted companion who loves to cuddle, curl up beside his people, and gently rest his head in a lap. He seems to understand the difference between adults and children, showing remarkable gentleness and restraint with little ones. If you're looking for a sweet, sensitive soul who will reward your patience with endless love, loyalty, and the occasional nose boop, Apollo may be the perfect addition to your family. =============================================================================== To apply to adopt me, please fill out the application form! https://form.jotform.com/51994996709176 .
