About Gable

Gable is a 2 1/2 yr old neutered male Akbash (livestock guardian).Gable is listed here as a GP since no Akbash was available. Gable had a rough life prior to coming to Four Peaks Animal Rescue. He sustained a substantial injury necessitating a right femoral head ostectomy (FHO). The surgery improved his quality of life by reducing pain and enhanced mobility. His altered stride doesn't stop him from running and playing with his dog friends. Gable is gentle, kind, pretty calm, very good with goats, horses and he loves his kitties. He gets along very well with the other dogs(large n small) but he is no push over. He will guard his food, new toys on the scene and even the dog door sometimes. He is not aggressive but will make his likes and dislikes known. He has not been around children or fowl. Gable is pretty good about wanting to please for a LSG. Gable is accustomed to dog door access and guarding his property boundaries. We'd like to find Gable a home where he can be part of the family and to do his job with free choice to be in or out. choice.
