The SNUGGLE MONSTER has ARRIVED! -Hasn't been around children. -Hasn't been around dogs. -MAY do well with a feline-friendly cat, given his disposition Meet Leo, a gorgeous 4-year-old Bengal who landed in the Davis County shelter early this May (came in as a stray). Leo went to a fantastic foster home that had no other pets - it was just a friendly couple who had nothing but time to give him. It took Leo literally NO time to decompress. Soon they discovered that this boy is an absolute UNICORN! His foster family wants you to know: Leo LOVES cuddling above all else. He's happiest when he's making biscuits in your lap, curled up in a blanket, or getting lots and lots and lots of pets. His favorite treat is the squeezable salmon puree as a treat to end the night. He loves to 'hunt' and chase the little mouse at the end of the cat wand, he's very agile and will leap, run, jump, and tackle the toy - anything to catch his 'prey'. But seriously - he's a world-class snuggler. He wants to lay on your lap, your laptop, your feet, your chest, your face, anywhere that's close to you is his favorite place to be. He is active but certainly not reckless! He's happy to hop on the counter, cat tree or hide under the bed when people he doesn't know come to visit. Despite this, once he has a few minutes to acclimate, he's happy to come on out and see who the 'new people' are. Otherwise he's super comfortable lounging on the couch or hanging out in a window sill watching the world go by, when his humans are busy. He's actually quite 'chill' for a Bengal his age. He does like to play a few times a day but he really does enjoy couch-surfing and watching sitcoms with his people. If you're looking for a quiet cat, Leo's not the one for you. He's very chatty first thing in the morning when he's ready for breakfast and also when he wants to play. He will do the classic bengal yell when he's most desperate for food or attention, will meow persistently when he's happy rubbing around your ankles, and squeak out the tiniest/sweetest mews when he's cozying up. Caution: Leo often seems hopeful for an opportunity to scoot out the door. We don't have a lot of background on him so we don't know if his prior owners let him have access to the outside. When we got him he showed few signs of outdoor 'wear and tear' - his coat was healthy. So it's hard to say. His fosters tried a harness on him to see if maybe that was familiar to him? No, apparently not - he didn't like it. That's not to say an owner in the future might not be able to train him slowly to acclimate to a harness - but for now, we'll not push the issue. Leo eats Tiki Cat After Dark wet food, and loves freeze-dried minnows and salmon treats. He's not a fan of kibble (which is a good thing). Guilty of trying to steal human-food, especially skilled at removing bread from bread bags (you've been warned!). He is a huge fan of the water fountain in the home. Leo has PERFECT litter box habits and is very happy with OkoCat litter. He uses several clean, open litter boxes in his home. As for other pets - we do think he could warm up to another cat who is friendly / not too pushy. Amazingly enough - he is used to a *normal* routine at home. He doesn't demand breakfast before 8. He allows his people to get work done during the day with minimal interruptions. He's accustomed to a regular dinner hour and the evening wind down / play before bed. Overall he's an easy guy! Leo is neutered, FeLV / FIV negative, vaccinated, microchipped and very very healthy.
