About Tilly

Meet Atilla the Hound - aka Tilly ��%BD��%BD��%BD%A4��%BD��%BD%90%BE Tilly is a nearly 2-year-old Black & Tan / Treeing Walker Coonhound (DOB 7/14/24) looking for a loving new home. This is an incredibly difficult decision for our family. My husband brought her home when she was just 9 weeks old, and after his tragic passing in a workplace accident this March, our circumstances have changed in ways we never expected. As much as we love her, my children and I know we can't give her the long-term life and stability she deserves. Tilly is spayed (4/7), fully vaccinated, and full of classic coonhound personality. She is smart, funny, vocal, affectionate, and absolutely thrives with someone who understands hounds and enjoys an active dog. She bays like a true hound dog and loves having a job to do - whether that's long walks, adventures, scent games, or learning tricks. She already knows (but will likely need refreshers on some): ��%BD'� Sit ��%BD'� Lay down ��%BD'� Shake ��%BD'� Speak ��%BD'� Circle around you ��%BD'� Center between your legs Tilly does best after getting a mile or two of exercise and some mental stimulation. She is not crate trained, but she sleeps well in an x-pen every night, which I'm happy to send with her. She would do best in a home without small children, simply because she's still young, energetic, and working on her manners. She can get rowdy when excited. She also needs continued patience with nail trims and ear handling. She has not met a lot of dogs, and can be nervous about sharing space with them. When out on our walks she will bay at other dogs to stay away. She does have a chicken allergy, but has done very well on WholeHearted Beef food from Petco. More than anything, Tilly deserves someone who will love her deeply, continue working with her, and make her part of their adventures. She has been very loved her whole life, and finding the right home matters immensely.
