About 'SHADY',

X URGENT AT Rancho Cucamonga Shelter, Rancho Cucamonga, So Cal - ID #A779698 approx 3.5 yr old, very friendly and sweet English bulldog left in a vacant home with no food or water, now in completely full kill shelter, and needs out asap once he meets his legal retention. Note: we are unclear if he will be made adoptable or Rescue only until he is assessed - but we are looking for Foster and rescue now , as well as adopter (or foster to adopt) due to the urgency. 'SHADY', an ADORABLE, MALE BULLDOG, MAY SOON BE ADDED TO EUTHANASIA LIST. Now at risk. May need rescue, and most rescues need a foster or foster to adopt home to save Help! We were contacted about this urgent situation where several dogs were abandoned after someone was evicted. After a welfare check was done by police, two female chows were found in the yard, and a male bulldog was found inside, without food or water. We have since learned from someone who knows the owner and dogs, that the owner is not returning (or reclaiming them), and the shelter has let is know they are at full capacity- and indicated they need out asap. The dogs were brought in on 6/19 and are currently on a 10 day stray hold, although this time may be reduced if the owner ends up surrendering them before this. They will be in extreme danger of euthanasia for space, once they are off their holds. This handsome boy is named Shady, and said to be about 3.5 years old) and lived inside the home and said to be potty trained. He got along with two female chows who were kept outside (and posted separately), but were mostly kept separate, possibly because none of the dogs were likely fixed. We understand all dogs are friendly. 'Shady' is described as 'Very playful/friendly, very playful'. The chow, Sugar is a little more shy than her mother, but said to be sweet once she gets to know you, as is typical of the breed. Her mother, Sissy, a rare brindle chow or chow mix, was described as a 'sweet sweet girl'. We are still unclear if any of these dogs will be made adoptable or not, given many chows and dogs do not do well in a shelter environment. These dogs may also need further medical. We are therefore looking for both adopters or fosters and rescues now. If made Rescue only. We can also refer potential adopters to rescues to foster to adopt. Rescue groups could also then assist with any medical needed.
