At just a year and a half old, Quinn spent her early life with very little exposure to the world outside the confines of her home. Everyday experiences that most dogs take for granted-walks, public outings, meeting new people, riding in vehicles, hearing unfamiliar sounds-were completely foreign to her. When Quinn entered rescue on March 10th, she was overwhelmed by a world she had never been taught how to navigate. Her instinct when frightened was simple: run. But Quinn has worked incredibly hard. She is currently enrolled in a board and train program where she continues to build confidence and learn important life skills. Since starting training, Quinn has learned to comfortably crate, walk on a leash, hold a place command, and reliably return to her handler using an e-collar. Perhaps most importantly, Quinn has learned that when she feels uncertain or scared, she doesn't have to flee. Instead of bolting as she once would have, she is learning to seek guidance and return to her person. That may seem like a small thing, but for Quinn, it represents tremendous growth. Quinn is also training and living around both dogs and cats and has done very well with them. She enjoys the company of other dogs and has shown appropriate behavior around feline friends. She also likes children, though our experience has been limited to preteens and teenagers. The older children she has met have quickly become some of her favorite people. And despite her difficult start, Quinn has attended multiple public events and done wonderfully. Watching her navigate busy environments, meet new people, and settle into situations that would have once terrified her has been incredibly rewarding. Now, let's be honest. Quinn is not a ready-made dog. She is a dog who came into rescue lacking socialization and life experiences. She has made incredible progress, but her future family must understand that growth is not always linear. A new home may initially cause some regression as she adjusts to unfamiliar surroundings and people. Building trust, confidence and security takes time. The family lucky enough to adopt Quinn will need patience, consistency and realistic expectations. The reward, however, is something truly special. Why Quinn is so special: %90%BE Beautiful blue eyes and stunning blonde coat %90%BE Crate trained %90%BE Leash trained %90%BE Knows place %90%BE E-collar trained %90%BE Learning confidence and resilience every day %90%BE Lives successfully with dogs and cats %90%BE Enjoys preteen and teenage children %90%BE Attends public events with success %90%BE Forms deep bonds with her people Quinn has already overcome so much. She deserves a family willing to continue the journey she has started-a family that will celebrate the small victories, provide guidance when she needs it, and help her discover just how wonderful life can be. For the family willing to open their hearts to her, Quinn won't just become a pet. She'll become a loyal companion whose trust and love are earned, and therefore all the more meaningful.
