Intake Date: 14 April 2026 ----- Age at Intake: 15 yrs ----- Breed: Shih Tzu ----- Size: Small ----- Status: owner surrender ----- Compatible with: calm dogs, respectful children ----- Suitable for: quiet home ----- Medical/Behavioral Needs: Deaf, cherry eye, senior dog requiring ongoing veterinary evaluation and care ----- Additional Notes: %90 Meet Kyoshi - The Chatty Little Gentleman %90 Kyoshi recently entered rescue alongside Kenji after the passing of their owner and is now settling safely into foster care. While he may technically be a senior, don't tell Kyoshi that - this little guy still has plenty of pep in his step and keeps everyone entertained with his personality. Kyoshi recently enjoyed a much needed spa day courtesy of Pearls Pet Parlor in Minot and is already feeling much more comfortable. He does have cherry eye and recently completed bloodwork to help establish a baseline for his health as we continue evaluating his medical needs. One thing foster care quickly learned about Kyoshi? He loves to talk. Whether he's announcing his opinions, asking where everyone went or simply chatting to himself, this little man has plenty to say. Some of that likely ties into his hearing loss, but honestly, it just adds to his charm. Despite being 15 years old and deaf, Kyoshi is surprisingly spry, active and engaged with the world around him. He enjoys exploring, staying near his people and soaking up attention whenever possible. Why Kyoshi is impossible not to love: %90%BE Chatty, entertaining personality %90%BE Surprisingly active and spry for his age %90%BE Sweet little companion dog %90%BE Adjusting well in foster care %90%BE Looking for a soft and loving retirement home Kyoshi is ready to spend his golden years being adored, spoiled and appreciated for the funny, resilient little character he is. If interested in meeting and potentially adopting, please read the adoption requirements and complete the adoption application located at forbellessake.org. Once processed and approved a meet and greet can be scheduled and if a match an adoption can be finalized at that time. FBS standard adoption fee is $175.
