NEEDS TO EXIT ASAP IN THIS CROWDED SHELTER WHO IS ASKING FOR HELP X URGENT- AT LA CITY SHELTER WHICH IS MORE THAN FULL - PEOPLE FRIENDLY, tolerant of other dogs and has a gentle and dainty play style in playgroups Help! The LA city shelter is full and is asking for help for dear PUMKIN. Please help us find a good home, or foster and rescue, for this very adorable older chow gal who was brought to the shelter and surrendered by her owner for being 'old'. Her owner has apparently had her since a puppy! Pumpkin is listed as 14 years old and 46 lbs but had no major medical issues noted but is a bit slow to get up and has some cloudiness in her eyes. Despite this, Pumkin is sweet and moves around fine in playgroups. She was also tested with other dogs in playgroup to which she had a Gentle & Dainty playstyle noted, as well as had appropriate greetings. Per her owner's notes, she is fearful of cats, and playful with dogs. Pumpkin is noted as being brought in shaved, likely to hide her utter neglect as she still had burns stuck in whatever fur she has left after the shave. While at the shelter, she has now come down with some nasal discharge and is now on antibiotics. The shelter has also put her on meds for arthritis. We were given her complete behavior and medical notes, and owner surrender notes, which can be shared, and should be requested and or interested. She has no reported bites to people. Pumpkin is adoptable or available for rescue. While she is not on an end-of-day alert yet, the shelter stated 'this status could change at any time.' This same shelter euthanized the last senior chow mix who was there after he became sick. Therefore, Pumkin needs out asap.
