'Sherman' is a 95-lb, 3-yo intact male GSD who is smart, playful and energetic. Sherman is strong and healthy, but currently does not have any vaccination records. Sherman is very friendly with people he meets, but can be overly-enthusiastic and jump up on them. It is not known if Sherman has been around children. Sherman lives w/ a male Mastiff mix, but beyond that he has not been socialized with other dogs. Sherman has not been around cats so a home WITHOUT cats is a must. Sherman was kept inside as a puppy, but was relegated to being an outdoor dog once he got bigger. So, it's not known if he is fully housetrained or not. As an adult in his previous home, which was on 2%BD%BD acres, Sherman was either tied to a lead or kept in an outdoor kennel. Sherman has not received any formal obedience training. He was not taken for walks in his previous home, but I do walk Sherman occasionally and he does well on leash and will sit on command. Sherman is a very fast learner. Sherman rides calmly in the back of a pickup truck. Sherman belongs to an elderly woman (Helen) who was getting progressively sick and was subsequently diagnosed with cancer. She was not caring for herself or her two dogs (Sherman and the mastiff mix) and was no longer able to live on her own. We are friends with Helen and took her into our home. We had to remove Sherman from her property. We rent our house and are not able to keep Sherman at our place. We are presently keeping Sherman in a kennel at my shop in Fairfield. I am in the process of shutting down my shop, so I need to find Sherman a home ASAP.
