About Ferdinand

Ferdinand (Ferdi) is a loving, purebred cream-point Himalayan (Persian) weighing about 10 pounds. Due to an upcoming international move, his owner has had to make the heartbreaking decision to find him a new home. Ferdi is an incredibly affectionate and social cat who purrs almost constantly and loves curling up in anyone's lap. For nearly nine years, he has been a cherished source of love, comfort, and companionship for his family. Like many flat-faced Persian cats, Ferdinand has experienced chronic nasal congestion and recurring upper respiratory infections, which cause him to frequently sneeze snot and have nasal discharge. We have worked closely with veterinarians and tried numerous treatments and management strategies over the years. Most recently, his veterinarian has recommended dental work, which may help alleviate some of his symptoms, but we are still working with the vet. As plans for the move have progressed, we have become concerned that an international relocation would be extremely stressful for Ferdinand, especially given his health challenges. With the timeline becoming increasingly tight, we have come to believe that remaining in a stable, loving home may be in his best interest. Ferdinand is also deaf, but this has never diminished his sweet, trusting nature. He is a wonderful companion who deserves a caring home where he can continue to receive the love and attention he enjoys so much.
