At 3 years old and 88 pounds, this handsome German Shepherd mix isn't just a dog�'�| he's a devoted companion, a playful soul, and a cuddle bug all wrapped into one. Eight months ago, Huey arrived at the Upland Animal Shelter terrified-so scared he wouldn't leave his crate for days. But with love, patience, and kindness, he has blossomed into one of the happiest, most affectionate dogs in the shelter. Today, he eagerly runs to the play yard, ready to chase tennis balls and soak up every bit of affection he can get. WHY EVERYONE LOVES BABY HUEY: Knows 'sit' and is smart, eager to learn. Fetch champion (and gently gives the ball back!). Gentle, not food or toy possessive. Affectionate, calm, and LOVES cuddles (yes, he thinks he's a lap dog!). Walks beautifully on leash. Volunteer & staff favorite. Great potential for families-gentle and kid-friendly nature. Not reactive to dogs on walks (best currently as a single dog). Perfect for first-time dog owners.
