About Boone

Meet Boone! Boone is a handsome 3-year-old blue merle Australian Shepherd weighing just under 60 pounds (tail included!). He's a smart, loyal, and affectionate boy who forms strong bonds with his people and enjoys a healthy balance of playtime, enrichment, and relaxation. He embodies many classic Aussie traitseager to learn and happiest when he has both a job and time to relax. Boone rides well in the car, settles nicely in the home, and does not require crating when left alone. He could thrive with a well-matched canine companion who is social, dog-savvy, and able to settle between play sessions. He's not a nonstop, high-energy dog; he appreciates a balance of activity, enrichment, and naps. Like many herding breeds, Boone thrives with clear guidance and structure and is learning excellent coping skills, including redirecting to toys and taking breaks when needed. On walks, he is responsive to his handler and redirects easily when given guidance. Boones ideal home will be committed to continuing his training and providing the clear communication, consistency, and enrichment that Aussies thrive on. Boone could do well with either an experienced Aussie owner or a first-time Aussie owner who is dedicated to training and learning the breed.
