About TRINKET

TRINKET is a 4-year-old Chihuahua mix who weighs 15 pounds. She came to us pregnant and delivered five beautiful puppies by C-section. Now that her babies are weaned and preparing for their own forever homes, it's time for this sweet mama to find a family of her own. TRINKET can be a little shy when meeting new people and may need a bit of time to warm up, but once she trusts you, she is incredibly loving and devoted. She adores attention and affection, especially butt scratches and belly rubs. One of her most endearing traits is how vocal she is. She isn't a big barker, but she loves to communicate through adorable moans, groans, grumbles, and little noises. If she wants something, she'll happily sit and 'talk' to you until you figure it out. TRINKET does well with other small dogs. She was understandably protective of her puppies when they were young, but she has relaxed considerably as they have grown. She would be fine as an only dog as long as she doesn't spend too much time alone. We do not know how she would be with children and cats. TRINKET is housebroken and knows how to use a dog door. She will also let you know when she needs to go outside by coming to you and crying. As long as you pay attention to her signals, she does very well with her potty habits. We would prefer that she has a home with a fenced yard but she walks well on leash and loves to be close to her people so she would be fine without one, too. At night, TRINKET's favorite place to sleep is snuggled up in the big bed with her person. She loves being close to her people and enjoys sharing her nights with those she loves. TRINKET is spayed, up to date on shots, heartworm negative, has had a ProHeart 12 heartworm prevention shot and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. We adopt within a 6 hour drive to Pensacola. Puppies and dogs with pending vet appointments, and dogs with behavioral or medical issues are only adoptable locally (within 1 hour to Pensacola).
