I had an unsuccessful knee replacement and can no longer provide Leo with the level of exercise he needs and must re-home him with someone who can. He will bring his own dog crate, bed, leads, collars, and harnesses to his new home. Leo was bred by Cymberly Nagel on a dairy farm in Panama, NY. His mother is an AKC Registered Lemon English Pointer, and his father is an AKC Registered German Shorthair Pointer. Leo was born March 15, 2022. He is a neutered male and is current on all vaccinations. I have all his papers and medical records. I named the new pup Leopold (call name Leo). The AKC refers to the Pointer as the aristocrat of dog breeds. Leopold is an aristocratic name of German origin meaning 'brave people'. Queen Victoria used it to honor a favorite uncle, King Leopold of Belgium. The name felt like a good fit to Leo's personality and his English and German ancestry. Leo is very food motivated, so I use treats when training him. In a calm environment, he responds well to the following commands accompanied by appropriate hand gestures: 'watch me', 'sit', 'stay', 'come', and 'leave it'. He is still working on consistently responding to commands when distractions are present.
