HAYDEN: BIG HEART. BIG PERSONALITY. READY FOR HIS PERSON. Upland Animal Shelter, Upland, CA. Animal ID: IEPA-A-17923. Breed: German Shepherd Mix. Age: 4 years, 10 months. Weight: 64 lbs. Sex: Male (Neutered). Intake Date: 8/31/2025. MEET HAYDEN: Hayden has been waiting since August 2025 for someone to see what the people who know him already see: beneath that handsome Shepherd exterior is a sweet, affectionate, playful goofball with a huge heart and so much potential. Hayden loves life. He loves getting outside, going for long walks, exploring, playing, learning, and, perhaps most of all, spending one-on-one time with his people. He is energetic and adventurous, but he's much more than an 'active dog.' Hayden is loving, loyal, curious, funny, and deeply people-oriented. Give him your attention and he'll give you his whole heart. And then there's that goofy smile. Hayden has the kind of big personality that can make the people around him laugh simply by being himself. AN ADVENTURE BUDDY WITH BRAINS. Hayden is a smart Shepherd who genuinely enjoys having something to do. He knows basic commands, listens well, learns quickly, is housetrained, and walks well on leash. He enjoys enrichment and playtime and thrives when both his body and his mind are engaged. Looking for a companion for long walks, hiking, exploring, training, or simply getting outside and enjoying the world together? Hayden will be ready before you are. He's an Adventure Enthusiast, an Outdoor Explorer, and a Shepherd with endless potential-all wrapped up in 64 pounds of loyalty and goofy charm. HAYDEN'S IDEAL HOME. Hayden bonds deeply with his people and would love a home where he can receive plenty of affection, activity, enrichment, and one-on-one attention. Because Hayden can be reactive toward other dogs, a single-dog home would be the best fit for him. Any introductions to another dog would need to be done very slowly and thoughtfully. He also has a high prey drive and has not been tested with cats, so a cat-free home would be the safest choice. What Hayden needs most isn't perfection. He needs someone who appreciates an intelligent, energetic Shepherd and is willing to give him consistency, engagement, adventure, and love. AFTER ALL THIS TIME, HAYDEN IS STILL WAITING. Hayden has spent far too much of his life waiting in a shelter. And yet he's still Hayden. Still sweet. Still playful. Still curious. Still ready for the next walk. Still making people laugh with that goofy smile. Still ready to love someone with his whole heart. He doesn't need everyone to choose him. He just needs one person to finally say: 'You're coming home with me.' Could that person be you? Learn more and see Hayden's photos: https://www.shelterluv.com/embed/animal/IEPA-A-17923.
