CLEO is a 5 year old, 10.6 lb Chihuahua mix surrendered because her owner wasn't able to give her the care and attention she needs. If you're looking for a loving little shadow who wants nothing more than to be your constant companion, CLEO may be the perfect match. CLEO is a sweet, affectionate little girl who may be a bit timid at first but warms up quickly. She loves being close to her person and would happily spend all day by your side. She enjoys giving kisses, soaking up attention, and getting plenty of pets. When she's excited to see her favorite person, she does adorable little spins. She is a little hesitant with strangers initially but becomes friendly once she has a chance to get to know them. CLEO would do best as an only dog or with another calm, passive dog. She gets along well with laid-back dogs and has been happy to share space and sleep next to them but more dominant or overly pushy dogs are not her favorite, and she will let them know she wants her space respected. She can be a bit jealous when another dog is receiving attention from her person but she has no issues sharing food, toys, or other resources. We do not know how she would be with cats and while we have not had her around kids, there were kids in her prior home. CLEO appears to be housebroken but will need a family that provides regular potty breaks, as she does not reliably go to the door to let you know she needs to go out. We feel a securely fenced yard would be the safest option for her. She enjoys rolling in the grass, a little sunbathing, and occasionally playing chase games with her person. She is generally more of a cuddle bug than a high-energy dog. At night, CLEO loves sleeping in the big bed curled up next to her person. She forms a strong bond with her people and prefers to keep them close whenever possible. She is quite vocal and will howl when her person leaves for work before eventually settling down. She may also cry if separated by a closed door. Because of her vocal nature and strong attachment to her people, she may not be the best fit for an apartment, condo, or townhouse setting. CLEO is spayed, up to date on shots, heartworm negative, has had a ProHeart 12 heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. *To meet or adopt one of our dogs, you must first submit an adoption application for review.
