About Pixie

Meet Pixie, a tiny senior Chihuahua with the gentlest soul and so much love left to give. Estimated to be around 10 to 12 years old and weighing just 7 pounds, Pixie is looking for a calm, loving forever home where she can spend her golden years feeling safe, cozy, and adored. Pixie was rescued in Texas and is now being fostered through a NY-based rescue. She's deaf and has very limited eyesight, though she can still detect motion, and her incredible nose helps her confidently navigate the world around her. Once she has time to acclimate, she becomes impressively good at mapping out her space. She may circle or seem a little unsure at first, but that's simply how she learns her surroundings. Before long, she remembers exactly where her beds, bowls, and favorite spots are, and bumps into very little. She absolutely loves to sleep, but she also enjoys the simple pleasures in life like licking a bully stick, rolling a treat ball around, or sniffing through a snuffle mat. Pixie is very food motivated and somehow always knows the exact second her dinner bowl touches the floor. Despite only having a few teeth, she eats softened food beautifully with a little warm water or broth mixed in. This sweet girl rocks a diaper most of the day and loves being cuddled on her back like a baby. Pixie is calm, gentle, and seems perfectly content sharing her space and treats with other dogs. A quiet home without too much chaos would help her feel most comfortable, and she does wonderfully with a playpen setup that gives her a cozy little sanctuary of her own. Pixie doesn't need much. Just patience, softness, and someone willing to love a senior dog exactly as she is.
