About Winnie

Meet Winnie Location: Bourbonnais, IL DOB: 4/2/22 Winnie is a playful, affectionate girl who loves being close to her people. She forms strong bonds with her family and would be happiest in a home where someone is around most of the time. If you're looking for a loyal companion who wants to be by your side, Winnie may be the perfect match. She has a moderate energy level and enjoys spending time outdoors, especially chasing tennis balls in the backyard. In fact, tennis balls are her absolute favorite toy! Watching her play is sure to make you smile, especially when her big floppy ears bounce around as she runs. Winnie is incredibly loving and is always looking for attention. She enjoys giving gentle 'love nibbles' and thrives on affection from her favorite people. She is house-trained, crate-trained, travels well, and is continuing to improve her leash manners. While Winnie is sweet and eager to please, she is still working on some puppy-like behaviors, including jumping, play biting, and counter surfing. She will do best with a patient owner who is committed to continuing her training and helping her develop good manners. Winnie can be shy around new people, particularly men, but she warms up quickly with patience and a few treats. When visitors first arrive, she may bark, but once she feels comfortable, she becomes friendly and affectionate. She currently lives with other dogs and gets along well with them, although she can be a little jealous when attention is shared. She would likely enjoy having a younger canine companion to play with. Winnie is food protective and should be fed separately from other pets. Winnie also lives peacefully with a senior male cat and shows very little interest in him. She enjoys older children and loves playing with teenagers. Because of her tendency to jump when excited, a home without small children would be the best fit.
